I don’t think anyone saw this one coming.

The Brooklyn Democratic Party has rescinded its endorsement of Gov. Kathy Hochul in this year’s race for governor.

The announcement came Wednesday after Hochul unveiled her new running mate and choice for lieutenant governor: former New York City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams, a Democrat from Queens.

“This is a response to the political miscalculation on the part of the governor’s campaign and their failure to engage or consult Brooklyn Democratic leaders who represent New York’s largest Democratic delegation,” the county party’s executive committee said in a statement.

The state Democratic Party’s nominating convention is on Friday. Hochul is expected to be designated as her party’s nominee in this year’s race for governor but may no longer have support from Brooklyn delegates, the county party said.
