💵 State budget not expected to be done this week, fifth extender may be needed
💰 Gov. Kathy HOCHUL and leaders from the Senate and Assembly met for several hours Thursday to continue talks on the budget, but a deal was not reached.
And members of the Legislature could be headed back to their districts again for the weekend while the three parties continue negotiations toward a final spending plan.
The budget is now 10 days late.
But it passed in early May last year, so we’re early relative to that.
Senate Finance Chair Liz KRUEGER said on the Senate floor Thursday that next week is likely when a deal will be struck … or maybe not.
