🗣️ What Cuomo said to Congress about COVID-19 and nursing homes Tuesday
🦠 The former governor appeared before a congressional subcommittee and answered questions about his pandemic decisions.
Former Gov. Andrew M. CUOMO sat for questions in public Tuesday about his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and nursing homes for the first time since he was in office.
It’s now been more than three years since Cuomo resigned amid allegations of sexual misconduct, which he’s denied, but sometimes it feels like that was yesterday.
Tuesday was one of those days as Cuomo was grilled by members of Congress about the decisions he made during the pandemic, what he knew and when.
Rep. Brad WENSTRUP, R-Ohio, who chairs the COVID-19 subcommittee that held the hearing, announced at the start that he’s subpoenaed Gov. Kathy HOCHUL’s administration for any additional documents on file.
“The subpoena is vitally important as this inquiry continues and because the current governor is improperly withholding documents from MR. Cuomo’s time that are responsive to our requests,” Wenstrup said.
Because I want to get this to you before you leave for the day, the hearing hasn’t finished as I write today’s CapCon.
