Good afternoon — it’s Monday and National Beer Day.

In today’s CapCon:

  • There was little progress over the weekend on the state budget, lawmakers said after approving a third extender Monday.

  • District attorneys were dispatched to the Capitol to advocate for Hochul’s discovery proposals. Lawmakers didn’t buy it.

  • An effort from Republicans to force a floor vote in the Assembly on a bill became heated as tensions rise amid the delay.

  • New bills have been introduced to change New York’s lead pipe replacement standards and mandate cursive instruction in schools.

  • This Week in New York History: The (Brooklyn) Dodgers and Times Square.

Names in today’s CapCon: Liz Krueger, Michael Gianaris, Kathy Hochul, Gabriella Romero, Darcel Clark, Alvin Bragg, Brian Maher, Crystal Peoples-Stokes, Mary Beth Walsh, Chris Tague

“It’s a darker day for me,” Krueger said. “The world is about to go into a world recession, the country is literally on fire.”
