In today’s CapCon, “countless” lawmakers in New York are using AI to draft floor speeches, and a new bill introduced this week would require them to disclose when they use that technology.
Then, New York has spent a lot of money in an attempt to close the teacher shortage gap. The agency charged with distributing the money isn’t getting enough of it out the door, according to the state comptroller.
Later, the state’s highest court is set to hear a case that could impact whether our marijuana legalization law applies retroactively to cases prosecuted before the law went into effect.
And the governor signed a series of bills related to the attack on the World Trade Center 25 years ago.
