☑️ Adams says New York City residents ‘need to be safe’ from Cuomo
New York City Mayor Eric Adams is a big fan of telling reporters that he can’t talk about politics while answering questions at government events.
But he often bends that rule, and today was one of those days. A likely reason: Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced over the weekend that he is challenging Adams (and seven other Democrats) in this year’s mayoral race.
Adams was asked to respond to Cuomo’s candidacy and, specifically, a line from the former governor (that I couldn’t find) that the city needs to be “saved.” Adams misheard it as “safe” from the reporter but had a quick line in response.
