😎 Will Heastie back Hochul’s pitch for a mask ban?
☀️ The Assembly speaker’s summer tour kicked off Monday in the Capital Region, where he also spoke to reporters.
There are two things that could bring the Legislature back to Albany before the start of next year’s legislative session in January: masks and congestion pricing.
Gov. Kathy HOCHUL said she wants to reinstate New York’s ban on masks from 1845 last week to prevent people from engaging in violent or threatening behavior anonymously.
HOCHUL has started conversations with leaders in the Legislature on the former topic but a solution for the latter isn’t imminent, Assembly Speaker Carl E. HEASTIE said Monday.
He was in town to kick off his summer tour with Assemblywoman Carrie WOERNER at a day care center in Saratoga.
