Primary Day is finally here.
Candidates for Congress and the state Legislature have spent the last six months or longer launching their campaigns, gathering signatures and making their cases.
For some candidates, that’s all been in preparation for today — not November.
There are plenty of competitive districts across the state but there are even more races in which the outcome in November is more or less predetermined.
One of those races is among the most closely watched in the country right now: New York’s 16th Congressional District in deep blue Westchester County.
That’s where incumbent U.S. Rep. Jamaal BOWMAN and Westchester County Executive George LATIMER are competing in a primary Tuesday.
