In today’s CapCon, the recently enacted two-year rent freeze in New York City could be in trouble. A group of landlords is asking a state judge to reverse the pause, calling it “the result of a corrupted and compromised process.”
Then, we’ll dive into the biggest backers of Republicans in the state Senate and Assembly. That includes one of New York’s top billionaires, who’s also boosting Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman’s’ run for governor.
Later, we’ll look at how much health insurance companies are seeking to increase their rates this year in requests to the state as part of Bills Passed But Pending. Four bills approved this year could drive those costs higher, those companies argue.
