In today’s CapCon, New York has finalized its plan to rapidly lower the cap on carbon emissions allowed from fossil-fueled power plants over the next decade. By 2037, that cap will be about 10% what it is now.
Then, a judge in New York City is being recommended for removal after he allowed a longtime friend to practice law, despite not being an attorney, and kept his own cases after his election.
Later, two new bills seek different paths toward addressing the possibility of humanoid, AI-enabled robots in New York’s schools. Those are on top of another bill from last week.
Plus, Hochul has signed a bill that will allow more cannabis businesses to participate in pop-up, farmers market style events.
