Hey, it’s Dan. It was a soggy day in Albany but at least it’s nearly Friday.
In today’s CapCon, State lawmakers are paid $142,000 with a cap on how much they can earn from other jobs. But a Democrat has introduced two new bills to lift that cap.
Then, New York is now actively soliciting whistleblower complaints from employees at AI companies that may be skirting state law.
And, utility regulators in New York have launched a new proceeding to learn how the companies under its control use AI, both as part of its infrastructure and by employees.
Later, those same utility regulators are moving forward with part of this year’s state budget that requires the creation of an “energy affordability index” tied to executive pay.
Plus: the state Office of Mental Health is proposing new regulations around facility capacity and the state attorney general’s office has new rules for the Lemon Law.
