⚡ New York energy grid operator issues stark future reliability warning
New York was given another warning Tuesday that the state’s energy grid is not prepared to handle an uptick in demand for electricity anticipated over the next five years.
The New York Independent System Operator, which manages the state’s energy grid, said Tuesday that two reports show New York’s infrastructure isn’t ready to handle an uptick in demand for electricity anticipated over the next decade.
One of those reports studied the grid’s reliability over the next five years. The other plotted a path to maintain a reliable grid over the next decade.
