🔎 Where does interim U.S. Attorney John A. Sarcone live?

You might remember John A. Sarcone III from 2022, when he unsuccessfully tried to convince Republican party leaders in New York to nominate him in the race for attorney general.

That didn’t happen. The party instead chose Michael Henry, who lost to Attorney General Letitia James.

But Sarcone made it into a government role this year when U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi appointed him as the interim top federal prosecutor for the Northern District of New York, which includes the Albany area. He’s now seeking a permanent appointment to the position.

You might also know him as the prosecutor who said he was confronted outside an Albany hotel by a man with a knife recently.

Sarcone gave an affidavit to the Albany County Sheriff’s Office after the incident. That affidavit included the address that he claims is his residence; his job requires him to live in the district.

But the Times Union’s Brendan J. Lyons looked into the address and found that it was boarded up.
