Good afternoon — It’s Tuesday and Chocolate Day
Hey y’all, it’s Tim and I hope you have chocolate at home to celebrate.
First up, do you know what your governor is up to? That’s the question at the center of a lawsuit attempting to force Gov. Kathy Hochul’s administration to release her schedules and calendar.
My colleague Ezra Bitterman unearthed what helped New York through the massive heat wave that gripped the state last week. Hint: It’s something the state has struggled to bring online to meet Climate Act mandates.
You probably already heard that Hochul offered $75 million for law enforcement. Buried in the fine print is that they must follow new immigration rules.
Finally, a cesarean birth review panel would investigate the link between C-sections and maternal deaths. If Hochul signs the bill, it would be given broad powers to demand medical records, birth records and any other information related to its research.

⚖️ Lawsuit asks judge to force Hochul to release calendar
What’s Gov. Kathy Hochul up to on a day-to-day basis?
That’s the center of a lawsuit filed last week, which is asking a judge to order the governor’s office to release Hochul’s calendars and schedules, arguing the public has a right to know whom she’s meeting with, especially during an election year.
Reporters have Hochul’s schedule sent to them each evening but that only includes her public events – the things she’s doing that day where you can find her.
