🏛️ There’s one month of this year’s legislative session left. What’s on deck?
🙋 Lawmakers are scheduled to return to Albany on Monday to kick off the remainder of this year’s legislative session.
Democrats who control both chambers of the state Legislature will begin a race against time Monday, when they return to the state Capitol after a two-week break.
After the state budget is approved, there’s one question that usually lingers among lawmakers: What can realistically be done before the end of session?
This year, that question is louder than usual because so many things were stuffed into the recently passed $237 billion state spending plan.
I asked Gov. Kathy HOCHUL a few days ago what she wanted to accomplish in the remaining days of session before this year’s campaign season ramps up.
