⚖️ Zeldin claims parade of horribles will follow if voters approve Equal Rights Amendment
🖋️ A group of Republicans gathered at the state Capitol Monday to urge voters to reject a constitutional amend on the ballot this November.
It’s 2022 again — former Republican candidate for governor Lee ZELDIN was at the state Capitol Monday for the press conference.
He was joined by a handful of Republicans from the Assembly to build opposition to the Equal Rights Amendment, a proposed change to the state constitution on the ballot this year.
The bill would enshrine constitutional protection from discrimination based on ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, and reproductive health care choices.
Race, color, creed and religion are already protected from discrimination in that section. The amendment would just add to those.
Zeldin, a former congressman, and the other speakers called the amendment a “trojan horse” that would allow transgender women and girls to compete in women’s sports.
